By signing in, accessing, or using this website and the associated software program (SpermatoStages), you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by the following terms. If you do not agree, do not sign in or use the Program.
1. Acceptance
Your sign-in constitutes your acceptance of these Terms of Use. Continued use of the SpermatoStages after any updates to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Limited use of SpermatoStages
Except for the rights expressly retained by contributing Authors in their own Author Content, as described below, subject to your compliance with these terms, you are granted a limited use of the Program SpermatoStages solely for the following purposes:
Personal educational and teaching purposes;
Internal scientific research, analysis, and evaluation of drugs, chemicals, or other substances, including pathology-related effects;
Generation of results to support scientific publications, posters, presentations, or reports, provided that any published or publicly released material that relies on SpermatoStages outputs includes an appropriate citation or acknowledgment of the SpermatoStages, or states that the analysis was performed using SpermatoStages (https://spermatostages.com);
Preparation of documentation, data summaries, or supporting materials intended for submission to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or comparable regulatory authorities, provided such materials are used only for the regulatory purpose and do not include the Program SpermatoStages itself or substantial portions of the underlying copyrighted content.
Use by for-profit entities, including pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, for the research, publication-support, and regulatory-documentation purposes described above is expressly permitted. Separate written authorization is required for any other commercial exploitation, resale, service-bureau use, or redistribution of the Program or its content.
No other uses are permitted without prior written authorization. Suggested reference sentence users can copy: (e.g., “Stages analysis was performed using program on https://spermatostages.com”).
3. Restrictions on the SpermatoStages Program
The Program remains the exclusive property of its rights holders and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
Copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the Program or any substantial portion of it;
Use the Program to develop, train, or improve a competing software tool, algorithm, or service;
Extract or systematically download the underlying scientific photographs, images, or source data for any purpose other than the limited internal use expressly permitted above.
Results, analyses, or determinations generated by your authorized use of the Program (“Outputs”) may be used by you for the permitted purposes listed above. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy, interpretation, and regulatory suitability of any Outputs and for complying with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
You agree not to extract, download, reproduce, redistribute, publicly display, or otherwise use any Third-Party Content separately from the Program without first obtaining all necessary permissions from the original rights holders.
4. Rights of Contributing Authors
Certain photographs, images, and other content included in the Program (“Author Content”) have been provided by individuals identified as Authors, who have granted permission for their inclusion (or with permission from the copyright holder). Each Author retains full ownership of, and all intellectual property rights in, the Author Content that he or she contributed.
5. Disclaimer
SpermatoStages program was developed based on published data and designed with flexibility, depending on default values or input by the user. Accuracies of the default grid predictions have been checked by reputable scientists but are provided without warranty. The program and all content, including third-party content, are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind. The user is responsible for the “output” data and should check to see that the stage frequencies and cycle lengths meet their requirements and hypotheses.
